Ronnie was a great hard working man and a friend to everyone he met. He lived a very hard life beginning at age 9, but still loved to clown around. He recently said that, “One of my main goals in life was to make people laugh.”

Ronnie loved to ride motorcycles and raced when he was younger. He had several championships under his belt. He was introduced to cycles before he turned one-year-old by his brothers who all participated in racing at the time. They sat him on a bike, and it was “Game On.” Ronnie always had a motorcycle as a young adult up until the time of the birth of his first child. He chose to sell his bike to help support and sustain his family. He still got to ride from time to time with friends and was on cloud nine when those occasions arose. Ronnie kept his motorcycle endorsement until the end in hopes of obtaining a new bike. We all know that he is riding in Heaven now.

Ronnie also absolutely loved his church family with all his heart. Over the 20 years of attending TFC, he participated in the church ministry as much as possible by door greeting, children’s church helper, and many community outreaches. Ronnie was so upset when it got to the point that he was physically unable to attend services any longer. Ronnie had hopes that all his family and friends would come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. As he always said, “God is good all the time.”

Susie and the boys would like to thank all our friends and family for so many good thoughts and prayers through the past several years, months, weeks, and days leading up to Ronnie’s final departure. It’s been a long hard road, but we always felt the love others were sending. You all gave us strength to keep going.

Special thanks to the TRMC staff, therapists, nurses and doctors for their dedication to the profession. Special thanks to Ronnie’s personal doctors along the way: Dr. Perez, Dr. Robichaux, Dr. Dugas, Dr. Parker, Dr. Higgins, Dr. Chauvin, Dr. Vander, Dr. Paul Monier, Dr. Duplechain, Dr. Brady, Family Doctor Clinic, Thibodaux Home Health, and St. Joseph Hospice. An extra special thank you goes out to two of Ronnie’s therapist, Cullen & Chris, who continued to visit us every single day for the last three weeks of Ronnie’s hospital stay even though they were no longer working with him. They helped cheer him on and support me. They became family.

Thank you to my daddy, Alvin, for making the beautiful box urn for Ronnie’s remains and to my sister, Kathy, for the gorgeous decorative top and name plate. Also, thank you to Ronnie’s brother, Leonard, for his help in getting the bike ride started.

Thank you to Ordoyne Funeral Home for being in charge of the arrangements.
