Roberto Ricardo Vitanza, 87, died Wednesday, November 29, 2023. Born November 13, 1936 he was a native of San Pedro, Sula, Honduras and resident of Thibodaux, Louisiana.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 from 9:00 AM until service time at Ordoyne Funeral Home. Military Honors will begin at 11:00 AM with a funeral service immediately following. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Collier Vitanza; children, Maria Angelina (Tim), Zoila (Peter), Robert Vitanza, Jr. (Cathy), Eric "Vee" (Izabela); stepchildren, Jochy (Dave), Lourdes (Darryl); grandchildren, Bryce, Garrett, Kristin, Connor, Caroline, Mereith, Jessica, Vanessa (Gemma), Scott (Sarah), Melissa (Scott), Mandy (Matt), Monice (Aaron); siblings, Betty, Armando (Myrna), Enrique (Judith).

He is preceded in death by his parents, Calogero Vitanza and Maria Angelina Funez Vitanza.

Roberto served in the United States Army. He was drafted out of college to go to Korea for 2 years. He served in the Army reserve and National Guard for a few years. He was honorably discharged in March of 1962.
