Mary Cortez Waguespack, 84, died Monday, November 1, 2021 at 4:05 am. Born November 16, 1936, she was a native and resident of Thibodaux, Louisiana. She is now reunited with her loving husband and in the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Genevieve Catholic Church with burial following at Saint Joseph Cemetery.

She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Adams; grandchildren, Gareth Adams (Sharon), Lacey Domingue (Geremy), and Joshua Adams (Kim); great-grandchildren, Bryson, Kelsie, Riley, Ayden, and Camden; sisters, Shirley Williams, Mary Ann Naquin, Elizabeth Guidry (Earl), Margaret Rogers, Judy Fournier (David). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Obierge "O.J" Waguespack; parents, Lemcy Cortez, Sr. and Annette Tabor Cortez; son in law, Gary Adams; brothers, Roland Cortez, Lemcy Cortez, Jr., Clinton Cortez, Larry Cortez; sisters, Aline Thibodaux, Betty Guillot, Anna Lee Orgeron.

She loved her family; her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life. She loved baking and baked many couples wedding cakes.

The family would like to thank Cory Benoit for all the love and support she gave to her aunt and the family. They would also like to thank Audubon Health and St. Catherine's Hospice.
