Obituary for Louis “Ya” Joseph Murry
Louis “Ya” Joseph Murry, 80, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 4:43 AM. Born June 12, 1940, he was a native and resident of Vacherie.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021 from 9:00 AM until service time at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Vacherie. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM at the church with burial following in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Agnes Fonseca Murry, children, Glenn Murry, Bobbye Murry, Jeff Murry (Wendy) and Fay Sims (Wayne); grandchildren, Katelyn Murry and Jake Murry (Rebecca); siblings, Marion Granier and Rose Bourgeois. He is also survived by two special people, Rachael Pertuit and Shelley Piehet.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Armand and Mina Zeller Murry; grandchild, Wayde Sims #forever 44; sister, Dianna Granier; daughter in law, Penny Murry.
He was a life long member of the South Vacherie Volunteer Fire Department who enjoyed spending time at his camp and riding his party barge while listening to Fats Domino. He also enjoyed riding his three wheel bike to Wag-A-Pac to have coffee with his buddies in the morning. He will be deeply missed.
