Obituary for Joseph Norris Thibodaux
Joseph Norris Thibodaux, 81, died Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 10:35 AM. Born July 22, 1939, he was a native and resident of Choctaw, Louisiana.
A visitation will be held on Monday, February 8, 2021 from 9:00 am until service time at Ordoyne Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am at the funeral home with burial following at Saint Joseph Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rosalie Tabor Thibodaux; children, Cyrus Thibodaux (Bonnie Tabor Thibodaux), Stephanie Melancon (Craig Melancon); granddaughters, Lacey LeCompte (Daniel), Aggie Thibodaux; great grandsons, Samuel and Judah LeCompte; siblings, Genevia Ordoyne (Lucien), Theresa Lawson, Claude Thibodaux (Jennine), Wilson Thibodaux (Brenda), Barbara Thibodaux (Anthony), Lois Roberts, Geraldine Landry (Dave).
He is preceded in death by his foster parents, Walter and Agnes Tabor; parents, Willie and Vilian Rose Thibodaux; granddaughter, Lindsey Melancon; sister, Doris Ledet; brother, Willie Jean Thibodaux.
He enjoyed fishing and spending time at the camp. He loved to cook and was known for his amazing Sauce Piquant. He was always cooking for local fairs and charitable events. He was a past member of the Chackbay Fire Department and Choctaw Fire Department. He also enjoyed gardening and his old red truck. He was a mechanic who could fix just about anything. His greatest joy was his family; his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
As per state and local guidelines, the use of face masks and proper social distancing while attending funeral services are required.
