Obituary for Jo Ann Delaune Faslund
Jo Ann Delaune Faslund, 80 , passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at 9:55 PM. Born January 15, 1941 she was a native of Labadieville and resident of Thibodaux.
A visitation will be held on Monday, February 22, 2021 from 8:30 am until 10:30 am at Ordoyne Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church. Private burial will be held at a later date.
She is survived by her son, Brent Faslund (Michele); daughter, Dionne Smith (Brian); grandchildren, Brooke Paray (Raven), Brittany Griffin (Jacob), JoLee Faslund, Alexis Kraemer, Austin Naquin; great grandchildren, Raelynn Paray, Brantley Griffin.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Louis Faslund; parents, Roy and Gertie Richard Delaune; grandson, Blaine Faslund.
She worked as a secretary at Nicholls State University for the ROTC and Maintenance. She was a devout parishioner of Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church and participated in perpetual adoration. She volunteered at Thibodaux Regional for many years. She was an avid bowler, loved going to the Casino, playing bingo and spending time with her friends, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her dog, Midnight. She lived her life selflessly and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Nicholls Foundation in memory of the Blaine Faslund Memorial Scholarship.
As per state and local guidelines, the use of face masks and proper social distancing while attending funeral services are required.
