Obituary for Imelda LeBoeuf Acosta
Imelda Mary LeBoeuf Acosta, 92, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Houma died at 2:25 pm, Tuesday, October 12, 2021, after a brief illness.
A private Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery II.
She is survived by daughters Allyson Acosta Levett and husband, Ken, of Houma and Alexis Acosta Duval and husband, Berwick, of Houma; sisters Luella LeBoeuf Guidry, Jeanne LeBoeuf Doiron, both of Houma and Judith LeBoeuf Musslewhite and husband, Leland, of Gilbert, Arizona; sisters-in-law Rita LeBoeuf of Panama City, Florida and Myrtle LeBoeuf of Thibodaux; Grandchildren Stacy Flynn Schliewe and husband, Scott, of Baton Rouge, Stanwood Robert Duval and wife, Megan, of Houma, Farah Flynn Hubbell and husband, Toby, of Houma, Errin Flynn Viguerie and husband, Matt, of Baton Rouge and Claiborne Berwick Duval and wife, Addie, of Baton Rouge; Great-grandchildren Jack, Grant and Helen Schliewe, Sydney and Blair Thompson, and Cameron, Luke and Jude Duval; step great-grandchildren Hayden, Dylan and Jack Viguerie and Alexandra Hubbell. She was blessed with many wonderful nieces and nephews, lifelong friends, and had a special relationship with Sarah, Sophia, Madeleine and Maysa Kailani.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 64 years, Robert J. Acosta, Jr. (Bobby); parents, James LeBoeuf and Inez Bacon LeBoeuf; brothers James LeBoeuf, Jr., Eugene LeBoeuf and Roger LeBoeuf, sisters Nina LeBoeuf Allen Badeau, and Constance LeBoeuf Boudreaux.
Her entire family is extremely grateful for the excellent care and friendship given to her over the past several years by BJ, the residents, and staff at the Homestead Assisted Living Home. She was blessed to have special caregivers during the last several weeks and the family is indebted to Belinda, Crystal, Holly, Joyce, Latonja, Maegan, Megan, and Quanita. The family is also indebted to Patti Voss and Haydel Memorial Hospice for the wonderful care at the end of her journey.
