Obituary for Ernie Joseph Richard Sr.

Ernie Joseph Richard, Sr. 70, died Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 2:35 PM. Born August 12, 1948 he was a native of Napoleonville and resident of Thibodaux, LA.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 9:00 AM until service time at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM at the church with burial following at St. Ann Cemetery in Napoleonville.
He is survived by his fiancée Darlene Danos; children, Sheila Richard, Angela (Leo) White, Ernie Richard, Jr., Travis Richard, Laurie (Billy) Bergeron, Anita (Arron) Gonzalez, Leo (Teresa) Durocher, Rene (Ericka) Durocher; step daughter, Renee “Pooh Bear” Truxillo;  grandchildren, Bobby (Holly) Bergeron, B.J. (Amber) Bergeron, Tiffany (Jonathan) Battistella, Joshaua Durocher, Heather Rodriguez, Emily Leonard, Leah McGuire, Jayden Durocher, Troy Giroir, John Giroir, Brittny (Tyler) Gruden, Kyla Breaux, James Breaux, Jr., Caroline (Fabian) Flores, Megan (Sebastian) Hanks, Kristy (Kenny) Holt, Stefany (Scotty) Meaux, Chloe; nineteen great grandchildren; his companions children, April (Robbie) Borne, Melissa (Jared) Credeur, Robert (Annie) Britt, Jr. and her eight grandchildren, and her four great grandchildren; godchild, Debra “Peanut” Grilliot; brothers, Danny, Roger, Anthony "Pookie", Ted, Tommy Richard and Rusty Ordoyne; sister, Delta Grilliot.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Pierre and Lillian Traigle Richard; first wife, Dolores Richard; daughter, Pamela Richard; son, Daryl Durocher; sisters, Janet Zeringue, Janice Richard, Rosalie Ordoyne; brothers, Russell and Nevada Richard.
Pallbearers will be, Leo White, Ernie Richard, Jr., Travis Richard, James Breaux, Robert Britt and Junius Naquin.
He was a go-getter and held numerous jobs throughout his years including a car dealer, a mechanic and also drove 18 wheelers. Out of the kindness of his heart, he dressed as many characters such as Santa Clause and Barney for numerous organizations for children with cerebral palsy, childhood cancer patients and numerous school organizations. He enjoyed playing Bingo and loved to cook.
