There is a special bond between friends of over 50 years. Months can go by, yet when you call or visit time slips away. Hopes, disappoints, accomplishments, triumphs and tragedies are shared with a depth of understanding no one else gives. Emily was more than a friend, more than an inspiration, and one of the most courageous people Ive ever met. Her talent and caring knew no bounds. Emily is always on my mind and in my heart. I pray for her family and Todd, and send them love.

My grandma is a beautiful soul, who likes nothing more than to be strong shoulder to lean or cry on. She loves her tribe with all heart with an unflinching loyalty to her community and to her family. Grandma you will be missed, but NEVER forgotten. I love you.

Happy Birthday Grandma Emily! I just want to share that I love you and will miss you dearly. You have always been a special role model to me. From the time I was just 4 years old, you've been a special person in my life. I can remember spending weekends with you and Grandpa, playing tennis, cooking, crafting, and playing with Max and Ajax (the large, sloggerly Sheep Dogs). You were an important person in the lives of both of my children...thank you for making them feel special. I love you for taking such great care of my Grandpa, and for extending such open arms to our family. We will continue to love and look after Todd. Your First Granddaugher...Kelly

Anyone who knew Emily knew of her big heart and love for her son, family and friends. She was a world class administrator, a beloved English teacher, a dear co-worker and friend. Her feisty and loving spirit will be missed, her sense of humor, love for the written word and great tenacity and endurance will always be remembered. She touched a lot of hearts and leaves a lasting legacy in her beloved son and all of us who knew her. May the Lord bless her family and grant divine peace through this time!
