Obituary for Davis Peter Peltier
Davis "Red" Peter Peltier, 86, died Sunday, January 13, 2019, at 11:05 AM. Born, July 10, 1932 he was a native and resident of Chackbay.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Ordoyne Funeral Home and will continue on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 8:00 AM until service time at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 AM at the church with burial following in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Josephine Ford Peltier; sons, Adley Peltier, Raymond "Red" (Reggie) Peltier; daughter, Jo Ann Leonard; grandchildren, Raven Peltier; brothers, Rodney (Diane) Peltier; sisters in law, Marie Samanie and Stella Peltier and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Elvine Adams Peltier; son, Thomas Peltier; son in law, Henry Leonard; brother, Paul Peltier; sister, Isabelle Levron; half brothers, Charles, Norbert and Joseph Peltier; half sister, Viola Vedros.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a bus driver for over 20 years. He owned Peltier Vegetable Farm and sold his vegetables at the local farmer's markets and in front of the church. He loved working on his farm and driving his tractor. He was a member of the VFW and a 4th degree Knight for the Knights of Columbus.
