He is preceded in death by his parents, Constant Joseph LaGarde, Sr. and Marguerite Livings LaGarde; son, Antonio "Tony" Arriaga; granddaughter, Marley LaGarde; brothers, Doug LaGarde and Michael "Mike" LaGarde.

Buster attended Thibodaux College and was a 1959 graduate of Brusly High School. Known for his athleticism, he was drafted to pitch for the San Francisco Giants and in that same year also playing professional volleyball in England. He began his military career in 1960 in the United States Air Force, retiring in 1982 as a proud member of the USAF Thunderbirds Flight Team.

After the military he spent many years working alongside his family in their sugarcane farming business on Home Cottage Plantation in Thibodaux. In the early 90s he traveled abroad instructing on maintenance and operation of the new cane harvesters for Cameco (John Deere). Shortly after leaving Cameco he became owner of the Thunderbowl Bowling Alley in Thibodaux until 2011.

Buster enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, golfing, frequent Casino trips with his wife and his passion for cooking was only outshone by his avid gardening skills. Buster will be sadly missed by all who loved and knew him.

A special thanks to Dr. Laura Chauvin and Dr. Justin Tenney at Thibodaux Regional Health System, as well as Dr. Aaron Mammoser at West Jefferson Medical Center.

Ordoyne Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
