Carroll Joseph Ponson, Sr., 83, died Monday, February 22, 2021 at 7:12 AM. Born August 2, 1937 he was a native and resident of Thibodaux, Louisiana.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM at Ordoyne Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:00 AM at Saint Joseph Co-Cathedral with burial following at Saint Joseph Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Janet Hymel Ponson; son, Carroll Joseph Ponson, Jr.; sisters, Marcella P. Foret, Marlene Warren and husband James Warren, Jr.; brothers and sisters in law, Audrey Becnel and husband James Becnel, Carlyn Kliebert and husband Alcess Kliebert, Sylvia Bourgeois and husband Lionel Bourgeois, Jr., Augustine Marse Hymel, Grace Hymel, Janice Hymel, Jane H. Rivere; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Lucille Adams Ponson; brothers in law, Kelsey Hymel, Eddie "Boobie" Hymel, Warren Hymel and Herman Hymel; father and mother in law, Jules F. Hymel and Louella Loupe Hymel.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He worked for Badeaux's & Company as a wholesale distributor.
The family would like to thank the nurses, staff and doctors of Thibodaux Regional Medical Center for their care.
