Obituary for Allen Joseph Delaune
On November 26, 1938, Elise Traigle Delaune and Allen Simon Delaune brought their first born son, Allen Joseph Delaune into the world. At the age of 81 years old, Allen's life ceased, due to cardiac arrest on November 23, 2020.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Elizabeth "Libby" Delaune; his sister, Katherine Normand; three brothers, Samuel (the late Eleanor), Ronald (Pat) and Michael Delaune, Sr. (Mary); one god son, Kenneth Normand (Liza). He also had nephews, Mark Normand (Rhonda), Doug (Rosie), Drew (Cammie), Michael (Marjorie) and Matthew (Claire) Delaune; one niece, Denise Delaune; also many friends, several nieces and nephews.
Allen was retired from the Lafourche Parish School System after employed for 20 years. He worked 10 years at Ellis Braud and enjoyed dispatching at KTIB and a local cab service. He had a fanatic love of music. He was a people person and loved talking French with whomever he could. He enjoyed food and telling jokes in English and French.
After retiring Allen and Libby moved to the Houston, Texas area for 35 years, then recently moved to Missouri.
Allen was preceded in death by his father, Allen S. Delaune; mother, Elise Delaune; sister, Carolyn "Tut" Delaune.
A Graveside Service will be held at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Cemetery on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 11:00 AM.
